CALL FOR PAPERS

The Publisher La Cama Sol the Cervantes Institute and Joan Margarits family are promoting the Joan Margarit International Poetry Award. The aim is to annually award poets from all over the world with a consolidated and internationally recognized career.

The prize will initially be endowed with 7,000 euros.

Nominations may be submitted by Spanish embassies abroad, embassies in Spain of any country in the world, directors of Cervantes institutes around the world and previous winners. Posthumous nominations will not be accepted.

The jury will be formed by Luis García Montero, director of the Cervantes Institute, Javier Santiso, founder of Editorial la Cama Sol and Mònica Margarit Ribalta representing the poet’s family. The jury will also include Nuccio Ordine, professor at the University of Calabria, and Ana Santos, director of the National Library, where Joan Margarit’s legacy is housed.

The award ceremony will take place at the headquarters of the Instituto Cervantes in the city of Madrid. In the event that the winner is unable to travel for health reasons, it will be delivered to the Instituto Cervantes headquarters closest to his or her place of residence. The winner will be asked to deliver a speech, which will be published and given as a gift by Editorial La Cama Sol, which will also make a plaque with the speech and a selection of the winner’s poems accompanied by works of art.
